 That would pretty much rule out any relationships for the Doctor,
since female Time Lords are few and far between, unless you
want him to have a bromance with the Master, which doesn't bear
thinking about.

 There shouldn't be any romance for the Doctor in Doctor Who. He's already been a father and grandfather so doesn't need to have a sexual or romantic relationship with anyone unless it's to produce children, which means with members of his own species.
