 Talking about it and actually doing it on-screen are two
different things...
 And I would imagine 'it' was on the 'shopping list' given to
Gaiman by the show-runner, Steven Moffat. As it seems to tie-in
with the other foreshadowing that Moffat was doing, so I doubt
it just appeared in the script by accident.
