The TARDIS was established from the very first episode using the process of world building to reveal its powers and abilities to the viewer in a believable manner. Susan was shown as knowing more advanced science and mathematics than her teachers. The Doctor was established as being otherworldly. In contrast Kill the Moon contradicts basic science that every schoolchild knows, from the very start, by showing people gaining weight in free fall when the scientific facts are that you are weightless. Then it comes up with the bullshit space dragon.
The TARDIS can be believed since An Unearthly Child doesn't revolve around it. The bullshit space dragon cannot since Kill the Moon is all about it but tells you nothing about how it breaks the laws of gravity and conservation of energy and mass. The episode didn't even understand that when one half of the globe is in night the other half is in daylight when it came up with the stupidity of turning the lights on and off to vote.
