BULLSHIT!
Damn! My money was on "FAKE NEWS!"
Oh well.
Doctor Who ended in 2017. Everything claiming to be Doctor Who
after that is nothing more than fan fic.
If that helps you sleep at night, it's all good. Your Doctor Who
head-canon is your own, you can like what you like and ignore
what you don't. Life is so much easier that way... much easier
than expecting a TV show to change just to suit your needs
anyway.
Changing things to suit their own needs is exactly how the entire entertainment industry works - TV, movies, books, ... Very few "adaptations" are ever the same as the original, let alone stupid "reboots" / "reimaginings". :-(
We watched a documentary about the UK detective show "Wycliffe" recently. They filmed the pilot similar-ish to the original book, but then threw all that out when they made the TV series - they updated it it to a newer time, changed the characters, etc. They ended up with a show that bears almost no resemblance to the original books (and a show that the original author hated), other than having a main character named Wycliffe. Anybody with more than one braincell and a milligram of common sense would have to ask "Why bother?" :-\
