 My guess is DVD's and the ability to play them will outlive you
and me, especially as Blu-Ray players can play DVD's and there's
plenty of good quality ones still being made...

No wonder everyone is buying Vinyl. Anyone can make their own
gramophone player using only simple tools.

 I never got rid of my LP's and singles, I kept meaning to do
something with them but I was too lazy... and then records came
back in to fashion! However, you'd need a bank loan to buy most
modern releases as the record companies are price gouging vinyl
due to it being fashionable. The same with modern turntables,

£30 or more for a single album. Ridiculous!
And guess what's used to master them? CDs!

they are way over-priced... so people should make their own, or
just recondition an old one even.

Same with cassette decks. Over £400 for a basic cassette player which doesn't even let you record in Dolby B, C, or S, and doesn't even record on Metal tape, maybe not even Chrome.
And then there's VHS. The BBC have still not replaced all of my Doctor Who VHS tapes which I paid good money for the right to watch them.
