 Past mistakes? The first RTD era of the show was one of the most popular times for Doctor Who as a TV show.

And, given what RTD has, apparently, done to Disney 'Doctor Who', I'm wondering if, maybe, RTD wanted to do something similar way back then, and Christopher Eccelstion (SP??) might have walked out in PROTEST.

Sure, it wasn't perfect, but it was popular among the TV watching
audience of the day. We had an iconic Doctor (David Tennant), high
ratings, merch everywhere (etc.) If RTD and Bad Wolf could get Doctor
Who back to that level of popularity they'd be more than delighted.
 And so would we!
