I'm looking forward to the new Doctor Who season. I don't
know why  people assume there's only a few still interested.
It's a very popular  show around here.

It depends on which figures you want to believe, but except
for a few small bumps, viewer numbers have basically been
steadily falling, especially since the move to Disney+ (partly
thanks to international viewers simply not wanting to pay for
streaming even if they still wanted to watch the show).

Reportesdly, the 2024 season had the lowest viewer numbers for
any season (including teh bad ol' days of Sylvester McCoy) and
the 2024 Christmas Special had the second lowest viewer
numbers for any of the specials.

That's the key word, "reportedly". With the exception of the UK,
where we know what the actual ratings were...and even then they
are only guesstimates at the end of the day. Nobody knows how
well "Doctor Who" did for Disney+ in its territories.

I did read somewhere that the "Doctor Who" 2024 Christmas
special did very well for Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand,
but with no official streaming figures published it's all
hearsay... and doing well on a streaming service that people
have to pay for is relative as it wouldn't be the same as doing
well on a traditional TV channel with wider audience exposure.

The only way we'll know for sure if Disney were happy with
"Doctor Who" is if they choose to order more episodes/seasons of
the show from the BBC.
Depends on thier influence as well.

Pig's Arse, Binky, Disney only worry about the Viewer Figures and, therefore, how much MONEY Disney might make from more 'Doctor Who'.
