Nobody has to pay any streamer for any tv show; everything can
be downloaded from the web. If somebody can use a news reader
they can find and download a show. In the case of Doctor Who a
vpn will get anyone access to the Iplayer - nearly all of dr
who since 1963 is available at the click of a mouse. It is not
rocket science. Disney can go f*** themselves.

The worst thing about Disney+ (and other streaming services) is
the adverts. It would normally be €14.99 a month to subscribe to
Disney+ here in Ireland without adverts, which is a joke. They
are always running offers though, currently there's a €1.99 a
month offer on, which goes to show how much of a failure their
pricing model actually is. If you can give four months of your
service away for €1.99 - and do something similar in six months
time - clearly you have overpriced your basic service. There
should be a happy medium somewhere.

Hence why I tolerate Pluto TV.
Everything is downloadable. No need for anybody to be beholden to a
streamer. If you like it, go get it. Then back-up to an external HDD. No
subscriptions, no adverts. You are doing the producers of the tv shows &
movies a favor by watching their  product. There's no need for people to
become the product.
