The original puppet-based Thunderbirds is great and much better than the modern CGI animated Thunderbirds series with its Politically Correct silliness.
Both are infinitely better than the awful live-action movie directed by Star Trek's Jonathan Frakes (who knew nothing about Thunderbirds, watched a couple of episode, then thought he knew it all ... and unsurprisingly proved he didn't know anything!!).
There is also the Japanese-made "Thunderbirds 2086" animated series, which is just awful and weird, and bares no resemblence to Gerry Anderson's original.
A lot of the crew who made Gerry Anderson's special effects and models went on to be part of other great show and movies like Star Wars, Star Trek movies, etc.
Gerry Anderson never really wanted to make puppet shows, but they are his best work. His few live-action shows are pretty bad.
