The character of the Doctor is that of a white heterosexual male who fled his home planet with his granddaughter in order to explore the universe. There were no incarnations of the Doctor before the first Doctor played by William Hartnell and no incarnations after Peter Capaldi except for maybe the Curator and the Valeyard.
