Here we only get a couple of months to lodge the tax return
(something like 7 July is the deadline) ... after that it
is either tough luck or a fine. Although the tax is
automatically calculated at the various sources, so most
people do not need to do anything at all do not need to
file a tax return at all. Only those people with special
requirements need to fill to personal tax forms (these days
online) - self-employed, claiming tax refunds for charitable
donations, receiving : overseas income, etc.
In Canada it is the last day in April.
In Ireland (surprisingly enough) we like to keep it simple...
our tax year starts on January 1st and finishes on 31st December.
