Well, here we are at long last...a new season of Doctor Who on
the TV.

My first impressions of "The Robot Revolution" were quite good
all things considering. I found it an interesting episode that
certainly isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.

Anyone made it out to be bad?

I like it! Apart from Sasha getting killed, and the crying bit. He's
supposed to be the recovered one...

In fact, I thought it was a fun romp. "The Robot Revolution" won't
go down as a great Doctor Who episode mind you, but it had its good
moments.

Fancy, weird, crazy. Not much running, but overall good!

I've always said that Ncuti Gatwa makes a good 15th Doctor and
despite some dodgy dialogue I thought he put in a good
performance in this episode. The new companion Belinda came
across very well too, she certainly wasn't in awe of the Doctor
like some companions have been...

Yes!

in fact, she was quite a no nonsense type of girl. "I am not one
of your adventures" being one of my favourite quotes from this
episode.

Yes!

("Am I Six?" when the Doctor said "Timey-Wimey" being another.) With
the right material the 15th Doctor and Belinda could become a really
good team... if short lived.

And, the Doctor and the Nurse. Sounds good to me.

The complaint around a lot of modern Doctor Who episodes being
rushed could be repeated here too as the pace of this episode
was very quick and I assume some stuff was left in the editing
room... stuff with a bit more explanation to some things
especially!

Hah. The whole time fracture thing, and how it was resolved... What!?

Oh, never mind, it's fun. :)

Belinda's question "Is this your TARDIS" stood out too, so either the
Doctor telling her about the TARDIS was cut or there are bigger things
at play with Belinda and it's all part of her arc.

I was just thinking he must have told her off-screen.

Mrs Flood's brief appearance at the start and her 'fourth wall'
breaking comment is clearly foreshadowing something big later on
too.. as her comment was meaningless in regards to this episode.

Yeah. Back to who's Mrs Flood theories.

I'm still in the 'she is the Rani' camp. (Rani is an anagram of
rain - too much rain and you get a flood... Seems simple enough,
right? But as we know RTD likes his misdirections and
double-bluffs!)

Hm, could be the Rani, but the bit with rain doesn't ring true.

So, not a bad start to this new season and a definite
improvement on last year's opener...

What, Space Babies? I like Space Babies!

Overall I'd give "The Robot Revolution" a 6/10 rating.

Oh, at least 8/10 from me, let's see how the rest goes before I make up
my mind for good.
