It was the character's dream job, so he took the chance to make a change (I think there was some sort of problem and he quit being a detective - he's definitely no longer with his wife and daughter). Every episode ends with him singing on stage in the boat's theatre room ... unfortunately the lead actor is a pretty awful "singer", even though he did (somehow!) win the second season of X Factor UK. It starts with Ludwig being contacted by his sister-in-law asking him to come for a visit because they haven't seen Ludwig in a while, but it's a ruse to get him to come help her investigate what has happened to her husband. Even by the end of the season we don't know what happened to the detective, other than he seems to have gone into hiding without telling his family. A second season is being made.So in the First Ep, did "we" see what happened to the Real Detective?? IA police detective goes missing and his twin brother (a newspaper crossword setter) comes in to help the detective's wife find out what- LudwigSeen a couple .. but missed the first Ep so don't know the
"back-story".
