Overall the episode, despite being a bit on the weird side, was actually quite fun. It was almost a historical adventure when you strip away the 'God of light' stuff. Plus, RTD showed that he can still be creative in 2025 and he can actually give us something different when he puts his mind to it. Of course, being an RTD written episode also means that a lot of plot detail went AWOL, with a lot of the reasoning behind events missing. (Probably to all be explained in the season finale.) However, for me "Lux" was an enjoyable episode to watch and it is a good step-up from last week's episode. Good but not great. I'll give it a 7/10.
Agreed. I think it's the best thing RTD has written for a very long time. 8 out of 10 for me.
Regarding Mrs Flood, my own theory is that she could turn out to be the child of River Song, thereby extending the watery names theme to a third generation.
