It was never a simple 0/10 rating. It's was always in a state of
superposition between -16/10 and 0/10 until the series is either
cancelled or renewed as it predicted with the use of the hashtag
#RIPDoctorWho.
 

 
OTOH if it’s like 1989 again, there won’t be a formal cancellation;
they’ll just not be renewing it at all. Your score could be stuck in
limbo for years.

Quantum Mechanics doesn't work like that. The probabilities for each
state are not necessarily equal and the word quantum means that there
are no states in-between. What there is is entanglement. We shall find
out at the end of this series, though what that means who knows.

Will we find out? Don’t forget, DW wasn’t officially cancelled in
1989. The BBC kept insisting it was just suspended or postponed. There
were plans for specials like The Dark Dimension that very nearly got

Luckily all that quantum business doesn’t have much effect on the
macroscopic world. We can use -8/10 as a rough estimate for
now, and revise it to a final figure when the time comes.

lowest rating episode of all time until Gatwa came along and broke the
record repeatedly in consecutive episodes.
 

I don’t think the Sea Devils themselves are to blame for the low
ratings.
