 If people are not watching the episodes then it can't be a
reflection of the stories themselves so it probably means more
people have an issue with a gay black Doctor than they had with
a female Doctor.

Why should an overwhelmingly heterosexual and white British male audience accept a female and an effeminate gay black man in the lead role when the role was played by a heterosexual white British male actor for over 50 years? Where's their representation in a show which deliberately attacks, demeans, and humiliates straight white men and takes away boys' role models, heroes, and father figures?
