Didn't read any of the books, but we saw all of the Harry
Potter movies at the cinema on release and we all enjoyed
them.

i stay away from Potter.
Why, what's wrong with Harry Potter?
I agree with Agamemnon (yes, i did just type that)... we didn't
really 'need 'a Harry Potter TV series, but the films were quite
good.
Harry Potter and company deal in "gasp" magic and witch craft, won't someone please think of the children.
Meanwhile the Narnia series is very acceptable despite it deals in "gasp" magic and witch craft, won't somebody read this to the children.
Fundamentalist like binky just aren't the bright.
I have no idea who had the bright idea of making a TV series of Harry Potter, another sign the entertainment industry despise original ideas.
