 You'd expect any showrunner to have a vision for the show they
are producing and make the overall feel of it their idea for
that show. That's why you'd give them the job. But 'vision'
shouldn't mean continually harking back to your previous time on
the show as though that's all that counts. Bringing back David
Tennant, Donna Noble and now Rose Tyler, is basically just
"RTD's Greatest Hits: Volume Two". It's not really going forward.
 I suppose we can consider ourselves lucky that John Barrowman is
in acting purgatory or else a Captain Jack cameo would have been
guaranteed!
 

.... and what about Rose's boyfriend, Mickey, .... who, apparently, got himself in a lot of trouble following John Barrowman.
