I'd rather have no Doctor Who than bad Doctor Who.
The simplest alternative is to avoid watching a television
program that has deteriorated in quality to the stage where it
is deemed "bad" by parts of its fandom.
Bad is relative. I'm 60 this year, nothing is like it was
when I was 10... <shrugs> that's just the way it is. Does
that make it bad, or is it just not what suits my entertainment
preferences now?
"Coronation Street" is probably the only [other] major show on
UK television still being aired from when I was ten. I wonder,
do their fans still watch every week and bemoan the fact that
the Rovers Return ain't what it used to be - as there's too much
non-alcoholic beer on sale, or the show should be cancelled as
there's Asians running the corner shop, or claim the show
finished when Hilda Ogden left, and are there people out there
that want to see Deirdre Barlow shagging Mike Baldwin retconned?
Yeah, don't like it... just switch it off and live your life...
it's only a TV show at the end of the day. Things change. That's
life.
