Someone in this group recommended this book and I read it and I am glad I did. It was published in 2009, making it the newest Spinrad book I have read, and is as good as his earlier work. A comedian from the future, or maybe a deluded person thinking he is a comedian from the future, shows up in a run-down Catskills resort and a theatrical agent sees something he likes. Teaming up with a new age follower and a science fiction author they create a nationwide television sensation. Spinrad makes some jokes at his own expense and has a pretty cruel depiction of fandom, but the book was funny and thoughtful and I recommend it too. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra.
