The Last of Us (Max) - Ep's #2.1-2.3.
Ep. #2.1 was slow, and was mostly set up.
Ep. #2.2 was a barn-burner - very likely to be the best episode of
season #2. Lots happens. But the ending is pretty much a disaster for
the series. I'm guessing this development is straight out of the second
video game, and if so I now understand why the second video game is so
divisive among the game's fandom.
From a TV series standpoint, I suspect this development will be
fatal, however.
Ep. 2.3 is the aftermath of ep. #2.2, and it ends up with Ellie and
her new (girl?)friend going off on a revenge! REVENGE!! mission on their
own. The problem is, 1) this is not likely to be very interesting, esp.
'cos they're likely to draw it out; and, 2) they are now introducing a
bunch of new elements that I don't like and don't care about. Again, I'm
sure all of this from the second video game - if so, I now have a lot
less desire to ever play the sequel game!
Just 4 more episodes to go - I may try to finish this show out today.
On the positive side, Pedro Pascal is no longer on the show.
