It's probably because nobody's assaulting them.
 

We're qualified because it's *our* country and we're entitled to have our own
culture and norms. Any immigrant who wants to come here must adjust to us, not
us to him.

If I want to move into your home, and you've observed that I'm dirty and
destructive, is it "might makes right" to say no?
