to try to deport any illegal migrants from his city, saying he would deploy

Has Denver lawfully seceded from the United States? I feel like I would have heard about it if it had happened but maybe I missed it....
If Denver remains part of America, I'm pretty sure he has to obey the law. I don't recall any exceptions for mayors of largish cities in the Constitution. What's it called if you declare in advance that you will not obey a law and in fact threaten to use force on a substantial scale to avoid obeying it? That's sedition isn't it? Or does it qualify as treason? Either way, the mayor seems to be talking himself into a jail cell. Or maybe even a civil war if he actually persuades Denverites to do what he's threatening and open fire on ICE employees.
Maybe as a courtesy Trump or his border czar should send them a lawyer to brief them on the law before Johnston does anything crazy....
