what happened to come daylight saving time. Well, they changed just like we
were on mountain time. So I had to go in and change them all an hour, which
was a real pain because they were those funky Asian things where you have
to push three buttons in sequence and hold them down for two seconds to
activate the third sequence to make something go back one.
 Then two weeks later the good folks in Pueblo Colorado figured out they
were doing it wrong and sent out the signal to correct it and I had to go
back and change every goddamn clock again.
 And then six months later do it all again.
 That lasted a couple of years and I threw the damn things away.

9-1-1 - "Sob Stories" - Season 8, episode 9.  During this episode a man
calls 9-1-1 threatening to kill himself, and the operator tells him to
go ahead to do it.  The man worries that maybe if he does kill himself,
he won't get into heaven, but the operator assures him that an exception
will be made and he'll still get into heaven.  I have the feeling this
episode was written by someone going through some serious relationship
issues and this is their way of venting.

Yes. I was trying to avoid spoilers, but the kill yourself 9-1-1 operator wasn't a guess star or some random background extra, it was one of the main leads of the show.

The Hateful Eight (blu-ray) 2015 movie written and directed by Quentin
Tarantino.  This was his 8th film.  The movie stars a cast of Tarantino
regulars including Sam L. Jackson as a veteran of the Civil War.
Jackson's character runs into an old bounty hunter friend played by Kurt
Russell, and Russel is transporting a criminal (Jennifer Jason Leigh) to
be executed.  But thanks to a snow storm they are all forced to hold
over at a store with several others (including Tim Roth, Michael Madsen,
Bruce Dern, and Walton Goggins).  But someone isn't who they appear to
be and sudden there's a murder that needs to be solved.  But this is a
Tarantino movie so it's less solved and more shoot first and ask
questions later.

 I saw about half of this, I think the extra long version, and then it
expired on the streamer I was watching and I never did find my way back to
it. Should I try?
 

Yes.  It's a good movie.  I like all of the movies written and directed by Tarantino.  But if I had to rank them all, I'd probably rank this 7 or 8 out of 9.  So it's not as good as his other movies, but Tarantino sets a pretty high bar and even his worse movies are better than average.  Keep in mind this is basically a bottle movie with a lot of talking.  Not much more than that until the end.  Think Reservoir Dogs set in the 1880s.
