Yesterday I watched... the "Single Black Female" series on Lifetime!!
I also watched:
soaps: Thur's ep's.
DOOL - Not much of interest happens in this ep. NuGabi seems increasingly unhinged about EJ. Then Javi moves Leo into the Hernandez place, and Gabi almost loses it!! Speaking of unhinged, EJ lashes out at Kate about telling Johnny about his rape of Sami, but Kate points out EJ has nobody to blame but himself. Johnny discusses the sitch' with Rafe, who admits he also knew about the rape. Jada tells Paulina her theory that EJ held Rafe captive at Kristen's crazy mommy's place (true), and then goes to bring Kristen's crazy mommy in for questioning, and tells Kristen that she will have the mom arrested unless they throw EJ under the bus. When Kristen's crazy mommy tells EJ, he prepares to flee town, but then it looks like he's going to inject Kristen's crazy mommy with the memory erasing drug instead!!
GH - This was pukeworthy: they undo all the good they did with Laura's character when she (and Anna) shunned Sonny - but in this ep, Laura buries the hatchet with Sonny, and it's a nauseating love fest... OTOH, in the "good news" department, Brook Lynn continues to treat Lois as the enemy (that's cause she is!!). And Chase finally (righteously!) lays NuNuLulu out for going after Brook Lynn and interfering in their lives, and threatens to find something to arrest Lulu with if she ever interferes or goes after Brook Lynn again! (Yes!!) Finally, Jason doesn't stop Anna, who then prevents NuJack Brennan from executing Valentin - instead, Anna arrests Valentin.
golf - Day 3 at the Valspar Championship in the St. Pete area of Florida. Outside of Victor Hovland, most of the leaderboard were names I did not recognize. And when I was watching, most of the leaderboard was going in the *wrong* direction, losing strokes instead of gaining them!! At the end, I believe Hovland was still (co-)leader going into the last day today.
The UCLA game was the March Madness late game yesterday, so I forgot to watch it. It's probably for the best, as UCLA ended up losing to Tennessee anyway...
Single Black Female film series!!:
I saw the end of "Single Black Female" "1", just to be reminded what happened - for example, I had forgotten it was set in Houston(!!). At the end of this one, after killing a number of people, EVOL!!1! vengeful Simone (Amber Riley) is pretty clearly dead, having been impaled-stabbed and about to be burned up in a house fire, while Monica (Raven Goodwin) rescues her bestie (K. Michelle, credited in this one as "Kimberly Pate") and her mommy and escapes the fire.
Single Black Female 2: Simone's Revenge - I didn't see all of this (missed a chunk in the middle), but it wasn't that I had "forgotten" it - I had definitely never seen this before.
It preposterously retcons the ending of the original "Single Black Female", as it's now "3 years later", but Simone didn't die in the fire - she somehow escaped, was rescued by a nun(?!), and now has amnesia!! (despite the fact that she did not suffer a head trauma during the fight at the end of "Single Black Female"!!) And nobody has figured out that Simone's not dead! (There's no way this would have escaped Monica's notice!!) Meanwhile, Monica has moved on to a new job in Seattle, where her heartless producer boss (Christine Horn) is exploiting her past for ratings. This one ends even more preposterously than it starts - after having regained her memories, Simone murders a bunch more people, to frame Monica for the crimes! And everyone except K. Michelle falls for it! In the end, Simone is reunited with her long-lost daughter (Angel Pean) - another retcon! as there was no mention of any of this in the first film IIRC!
Single Black Female 3: The Final Chapter - The most disappointing one of the lot. This final installment completely retcons the first two films - you see, Simone is not an EVOL!!1! crazed homicidal stalker! Now she's a repentant misunderstood tragic "good girl" who is trying to do right by her daughter (I'm about 100% sure the daughter role was recast for this film, though I can't check as this flick is still not listed in IMDb - looks like I will have to try to add it today...). But murders keep happening around Simone and her daughter! Is Simone still secretly a crazed killer? Is Monica behind it, trying to frame Simone this time? Is it the vengeful suspended police detective trying to avenge the brother that Simone murdered and framed Monica for in SBF2?!... The ending of this one is off-the-charts preposterous, in my book, and its message of "forgiveness" hits all the wrong notes! Bah! And Puh-TUIE!!
