If you have, you should make very sure that you don't ever go to Hong
Kong, even just to change planes. This video explains why a trip to
Hong Kong, even just to make a connecting flight, could put you in
jail for years and even the rest of your life.

Newly enacted legislation which China insists applies to ANYONE who
has criticized the Chinese government - regardless of where the
person lives in the world or where the criticism was made - puts
everyone at risk. Even this post has the potential of putting me in
a prison for life if I ever set food in China.

Yes, there's the potential of that happening but unless you are
actively protesting the CCP it is unlikely they care enough to arrest
foreigners passing through the country. It's going to stir up more
trouble for no real benefit. This is more likely meant to give their
people in countries like Canada more authority (cover) to go after
Chinese citizens who live in Canada and are protesting the Chinese
government.

It is absolutely NOT a certainty that you will be arrested and
imprisoned for criticizing China if you ever land in Hong Kong (or
China proper) but, given the POSSIBILITY, you would be foolish to take
the chance. Read the comments under the video. Several Hong Kongers
report that they are living in great fear now and several people that
have friends and family there and who are eager to return will not take
the chance now. Another commenter reported very heavy scrutiny of his
documents, more than he'd ever seen elsewhere.

I think that locals and frequent visitors  know a lot more than you or
I but if you want to take the chance thinking the authorities won't
make a fuss about a small fry like you, feel free to go. If we don't
hear from you again after you land, we'll understand that you were
wrong.
