Yep, gotta hold those businesses accountable for the thugs who steal
from them. I mean, after all, it's their fault for having all that
stuff people want to take, right? They're just providing one big
temptation that's luring future scholars and astronauts down the
wrong path.
 

The thought processes used by these organizations defy all logic. The
businesses who they want to make accountable are the chief VICTIMS of
the crimes, not the benefactors. The secondary victims are the mayors'
constituents when the stores close down or move to safer districts. Do
the mayors really think that blaming the stores and allowing the
thieves to force them out of business or move is a great vote-getting
strategy? Will it really seduce voters to choose to re-elect them over
other candidates? Do they think the votes of the thieves will outnumber
the votes they lose from not solving these problems sensibly?
