Yes, and there's no legal way to avoid that if a state legitimately asserts
nexus. But for tax purposes, holding a driver's license from a state you
actually live in doesn't change how many days of part-year residency you
have nor which state you had earnings from, nor what your worldwide
earnings are (in states that use federal AGI to begin wit).
