Apparently a show about feudal Japan isn't diverse enough even
though it has hardly any white people-- 'not white' being the
usual definition of 'diversity' in Hollywood.

Now it seems that the definition of 'diversity' is morphing yet
again and it now doesn't matter how many other minorities are in
your show, you still have to have a quota of black people
regardless of whether their presence makes any damn sense or not.

I can hardly wait until the next time they make a series about the
Revolutionary War and find themselves creating black leaders
among the revolutionaries to write the Constitution, lead the
Army, etc. etc. just to placate the DIE crowd....

I'm waiting to find out General Robert E Lee was actually a black
man.

Our Arizona science museum actually has the mission statement to
teach children that science was not done by white men and so they
have a black woman in a Santa Claus beard, greeting people as
Leonardo da Vinci

Do they not understand one of the key tenets of science is to discover
the truth of how things work and what goes into it. Starting off with
a black woman in a Santa Claus beard pretending to be da Vinci doesn't
sound like any sort of truth I'm aware of.

You must be using "truth" in the old sense of "objective truth", i.e.
truth that can be determined by - and agreed to - by objective
observers.

Don't you know that this truth has been superseded by "individual
truth", namely the perceptions or even desires of an individual which
may not be verifiable by objective observers? That's the kind of
new-fangled truth we hear about in expressions like "lived truth" which
is apparently where if you are black, you can claim to have been the
victim of racism throughout your life and even if your closest friends
and family members who know better say this is false, "your truth"
trumps theirs. And if your truth is that black people did all the
important science ever and white people did none of it, well that too
trumps all other claims about science anyone else could make.
