Yeah, that is a massively inaccurate statement. (Even Vanna sub'bed as host at one point!)
If they'd qualified that as "second permanent host of the nighttime version", then they might have almost gotten it right.

he was leaving at the end of his 41st season.

 That's not possible.
 Really, where do they find such badly written articles, and why do they
post them?  Do they not proofread?
