 I didn't see any evidence of actual fascism in the movie. There was no
evidence of a marriage between private sector business and government to
control society. I can't recall any private businesses being referenced
at all in the film.
 Sounds like Verhoeven doesn't know what actual fascism is any more than
every Gen Z college kid does.

The society shown was replete with imagery that recalled Nazi Germany, which in an entertainment film, was all he'd have wanted.
