Legally.
And since when do we base national immigration policy on a schmaltzy
sonnet written by an obscure poet in an era that is vastly different
than that in which we currently find ourselves?
What's even more ironic is that when the pome was written, the United
States actually vetted immigrants, who had to meet standards of
self-sufficiency and showed potential to contribute to society or they
were not allowed in.
So if you really want to use the Lazarus-era as a model for how we
should currently treat immigration, I'm actually cool with that.
What I'm addressing is the misplaced sarcasm of "grand tradition".
It's so every traditional to fly the gay pride flag off the White House
south portico and do it level with the American flag itself.

The claim is that Biden is a traditionalist. Flying gay flags from the
White House AT ALL is not in any way an American tradition and even your
own cite had 'experts' who indicated the White House display did not fit
with traditional flag custom.
And of course, during that perv party on the South Lawn, Biden also had
they/thems walking around displaying their bare fake boobs to the media.
Hardly traditional.
Maybe my grade school history books were lacking, but I don't recall
Abraham Lincoln hosting any tranny-fests at the White House.
What I'm addressing is the misplaced outrage about the "misplaced" flag.
