If I remember correctly from the book, they wanted to kill her from the
first moment they saw her, because turning a child is against the
vampire code, an abomination.

 
Same thing in the movie. Last week she joined their group and recited
the rules. One of the rules was no turning kids into vampires! I half
expected them to kill her right there on the spot. I was surprised when
they didn't. And now this week they have her on stage pretending to be
a child for their show. Once again, I was fully expecting them to kill
her during the show. But they didn't. Not only that but she got bored
with acting the role of a child and started to mess up the performances.
I'd expect them to kill her for that alone!

I'm not a big fan of any of Claudias that have been cast. I didn't like
Dunst (thought she was too whiny) and neither of the actress on the TV
show have bowled me over, either.
