Wrong. It's not the Star Wars universe that people will have no
affection for but Leslye Headland's version. I didn't need to watch
this to know how bad it was going to be. When you have things like
Headland saying she went out of her way to hire people who knew
nothing about Star Wars so she could jettison everything about Lucas's
version of Star Wars.

knew this was gonna be a winner.

 That's the worst approach one can have when I'm sure the majority of
the audience for STAR WARS content is that same "white people." The
sad thing is they could have done many of these things (multi-cultural
cast along with including some LGBTQ members) while still delivering a
good story that would attract the likely audience. Creating a show
that seems designed to attack the known likely audience is a bad idea.
 

And when this crashes and burns, when no one watches it, they'll all
start blaming the fans for being "-phobes" and "-ists". Its failure
won't be because they made a garbage show. It'll be because they made a
piece of transcendental art and the fans are just too stupid and bigoted
to appreciate it.

 That will just provide more popcorn ammunition to keep everyone
entertained.
