The Canyon (Tubi) - 2009 flick starring Yvonne Stra-hotski, and Eion
Bailey (with special appearance from Will Patton!).
I actually am pretty sure I've seen this flick, or at least part of
it, before.
 Me too

Stra-hotski and Bailey play newlyweds - he wants to take her on a
mule ride tour of the Grand Canyon for the honeymoon. But he didn't book
in advance, so he's screwed! Until old salt guide Will Patton shows up,
and offers to take them (likely on the D.L.!).
Of course, you know this is going to end in disaster, and it does
when Patton is bitten by rattlesnakes
If only it had been Patton Oswalt
Patton Oswalt would have ruined this film.

and the mules run off.
So they're far away from civilization, get lost, make horrible and
dumb mistakes, and are menaced by wolves most of the time.
The ending is straight out of "The Mist" (which predates this film
by two years), which I wasn't really expecting. In fact, I would have
liked a more definitive ending, period.
This apparently was poorly received critically, but sports a
5.8/1000 on IMDb which generally indicates a pretty solidly entertaining
film.
I think it simply indicates that Strahotsky was still in her Yvonne can do
no wrong phase.
She looks pretty good here, yeah. And that's factoring in that she's supposed to look like crap in the film's second half!

This would have been a lot better if it were based on some true
story though...
What it would have benefited most by is naked showering under the
waterfalls sequences. Think Tanya Roberts in Sheena.
Well, I can tell you "Devil's Prey" (2001) absolutely would have benefited from scenes like that!!  ;)
