This time, they aren't clones but 4D tissue-printed "echoes", set
decades in the future ahead of the original series, with lots of red
goop and technology predating our time.

The bitch in Apt. 23 plays Lucy, just printed by Kira Manning (whom we
will learn was the daughter of Sarah from the original series, but why
is she evil?) There's a problem with long-term memory; she has none. We
don't see the memory-copying process.

Somehow she escapes from the evil corporation, chased by henchmen of Tom
(Reed Diamond playing his usual unsympathetic character).

Two years later, she's living in the middle of nowhere with Jack (Avan
Jogia), whom I've got to believe is watching her. There's also Jack's
deaf daughter Charlie (Zariella Langford-Haughton). They've been living
together but pretending the girl doesn't know they are lovers? Huh? Jack
bitches a lot that Lucy won't tell him her background.

Lucy keeps flashing back to escaping from the corporation. There's blood
but we don't know if she killed someone. She's got mysterious tubes with
hexagon ends.
>
Lucy gets into an accident, is taken to the local hospital, and her
medical scan matches the medical scan of the corporation's missing echo,
so Tom is alerted. A henchman shows up. Naturally, Lucy is able to kill
him and bury him. She gets rid of Jack and the kid and heads into
Toronto where she meets a friend.

At some point, we hear a commercial for the evil corporation, which
claims to be printing out body parts for the good of humanity but not
admitting to cloning.

Jordan Gavaris and Evelyne Brochu will reprise their roles from the
original.

I wasn't fully engaged in the story. It's just 10 episodes but who knows
if it'll get renewed. Airing simultaneously in the US and Canada but all
10 episodes were released 11/3/2023 in Australia.

I don't think Kira is evil. She's trying to recreate her deceased daughter.
And I got the impression that making clones was her idea, as an extension of what the company does, but is not the company's business.
It's an interesting idea that the boyfriend is watching her, but if he were, I think she would have been scooped up long ago.
Didn't know that Felix and Delphine were coming back. I'll look forward to that. But they'll be 35 years older.
I also was lukewarm about the show (and almost turned it off five minutes in). I loved the original.

Don't know if my deceased daughter speculation works with the timeline, but that's certainly how it seemed to me.
Keeley Hawes is 48, and Kira Manning is 47 in Echoes according to the Orphan Black wiki:
https://orphanblack.fandom.com/wiki/Kira_Manning
Age 47 is consistent with Kira's being 8 in the last season of Orphan Black (set in 2014, which I found on Reddit but can't find it again), and Echoes starts in 2052, 38 years later.
Krysten Ritter is 42 but she looks about 30 to me, at least as Lucy.
