 fwiw, I had (note past tense) a pair of dress shoes I picked up
about 15 years ago for The Governor's Ball where I was heading
with Brandi Shannon (Mary "WitSec" Shannon's sister).  Alas,
that other guy took her instead, so I put the shoes aside hoping
for another opportunity.
 About six months ago I took them out of the box and... they
were now two sizes too small.  Yeah, my feet had flattened
out and stretched in the interim.
 

Mine have done that, though not two sizes. Due to my habit of not wearing shoes at home and wearing sandals in the summer. The length has grown only one size, and the width has gone from a narrow to a medium.
