   If Denver remains part of America, I'm pretty sure he has to obey the
   law. I don't recall any exceptions for mayors of largish cities in the
   Constitution. What's it called if you declare in advance that you will
   not obey a law and in fact threaten to use force on a substantial scale
   to avoid obeying it? That's sedition isn't it? Or does it qualify as
   treason? Either way, the mayor seems to be talking himself into a jail
   cell. Or maybe even a civil war if he actually persuades Denverites to
   do what he's threatening and open fire on ICE employees.

 Imagine the gall of this grinning manlet referencing Tiananmen Square in
 support of illegally present non-citizens and violent narco-cartel gang
 members against the safety and welfare of American citizens.
 
 Per 8 USC § 1324, aiding or abetting the illegal entry or illegal presence
of
 an inadmissible alien is a federal felony, with penalties including fines,
 imprisonment, or both. And violating 18 USC § 111 (assaulting, resisting, or
 impeding federal officers while conducting official duties) can get you a
dime
 bid at a federal pound-you-in-the-ass penitentiary. Non-enforcement of these
 laws in the past by Biden/Harris does not guarantee future immunity for
 violating them. Something about which Mayor Clowndick's city attorney should
 brief him. Maybe the receipt of such a briefing is why he quickly backed
off.
 
 Had Mayor Soy continued the pursuit of his bold and excitingly
 unconstitutional course of action, it would have resulted in one of the
 all-time biggest examples of political fuck-around-and-find out in the
 nation's history.

 the back and told him "you REALLY don't want to do this".
 

They don't have the authority yet.

Not having any authority didn't stop Denver's mayor from acting the fool.
