The Labour Party won the UK election very decisively in the election
this past July and has an overwhelming majority, meaning it could pass
pretty much any law it liked and the Opposition parties could not stop
it. A Labour MP has put forward a call for the Prime Minister to create
legislation that makes "desecration" against any of the three Abrahamic
religions - Islam, Christianity and Judaism - a crime.
The BlackBeltBarrister points out that this proposed law could very well
become an anti-blasphemy law, severely limiting the freedom of speech
that Britons enjoy.

Remind me again, what freedom of speech do Britons currently enjoy?
BlackBeltBarrister seems to worried they'd have considerably less
freedom of speech if these laws are enacted so they must have SOMETHING.
He's an actual lawyer so I assume he knows something about British law.
Is it the freedom of speech that you enjoy in America? Probably not.

In what sense is the UK even a free country anymore?

You can't do much with your own property, can't own a gun, don't have free
speech, you can't even defend yourself if someone breaks into your home. High
taxes, shit economy, mass 3rd-world immigration, you get arrested if you're
white and complain about any of it. But it's sexually degenerate so that means
it's "free", I guess.

The UK used to be an amazing place but it's turned into an oppressive
government.
