 Turns out there's a reason for that commercial. Apparently what they
were selling wasn't selling so they are trying to reinvent the
company. The ad is their (strange) way of starting to do so. As part
of this plan they aren't selling any cars now as they work on what
will sell and redesign their entire product line.

The mallet (however brief) reminded me of the old Apple "1984" Super Bowl commercial, considered one of the greatest commercials of all time.
