I was really, really out of it yesterday (with a fever), so not much, as
I had pretty much no bandwidth for anything complex.

I caught up on DOOL and Y&R, but I'm not even going to comment on them.

I was so out of it that at one point I put "Sailor Moon" - in the
original Japanese with English subtitles! - on via Pluto TV. The one
thing you can say about "Sailor Moon" - it requires no bandwidth to
understand!

I've never watched a single episode of Sailor Moon.  Is it any good?
I'll actually be resuming my animation watch this weekend (or maybe
tonight depending on mood) and next up will be more Japanese animation.

I'm in the same boat. I've seen the changing sequences and people
talking about the show but never watched it.

I still have a high fever this morning, but conversely I feel better (am
much less tired), so I'm taking this as a hopeful sign.

Rest usually does the job of helping one feel better.

Hopefully it will continue to work.

What did you watch?

Creature Commandos (HBOMax) - "A Very Funny Monster" - Episode 7, and
season finale.  The remaining Suicide Squad, I mean Creature Commandos,
are still in Pokolistan trying to complete their mission to assassinate
the princess.  Meanwhile Amanda Waller starts to peace together the
truth.  We also get the backstory for Nina.  This was an excellent
finale.  Also of note, James Gunn wrote every episode this season.

I'll get to this eventually. Just got through episode 5 last night.
Maybe today since it's a snow day. First snow of the year.>

The Bear (Hulu) -  "Bolognese" - Season 2, episode 8.  In a series about
a restaurant, there is still no restaurant.  So this episode focused on
the team trying to pass an inspection so the restaurant can open.  I
have to admit, the 10 second countdown to pass the inspection was intense.
"Omelette" - Season 2, episode 9.  The restaurant prepares for its soft
opening.  By the end of the episode the restaurant finally opens for
business.

Silo (AppleTV+) - "The Safeguard" - Season 2, episode 9.  The
penultimate episode.  I was very annoyed that suddenly one episode from
the end there were all of these new characters.  That being said, there
was finally some significant movement of the plot forward.  While
watching I was thinking this was the season finale, and there was no way
they were going to get the show wrapped up.  I was very pleasantly
surprised when I realized that there was one more episode to go,
especially considering the massive cliffhanger this episode ended with.

Another one I need to get back to. Still recording it but haven't
started watching again.

In the first movie Gerad Butler played a LAPD sheriff who was trying to
take down a crew of robbers masterminded by O'Shea Jackson Jr.  By the
end of the first movie Butler's team has engaged in a bloody shoot out
with O'Shea's crew with Bulter's team killing most of them, except
O'Shea who has gotten away.  The first movie ends with O'Shea in Europe
with the money he stole from the heist planning his next caper.

Part 2 opens with O'Shea still in Europe with a new crew doing a new
heist.  Meanwhile back in the U.S. several years have passed and Butler
is still thinking about the one who got away.  Because of the way O'Shea
pulled off the U.S. heist, there's no evidence any money was stolen, and
the government doesn't want any evidence coming to light so they tell
Butler to let it go.  But when Butler hears about the latest heist in
Europe he suspects O'Shea is behind it and defies orders to go to Europe
and bring him back.  Butler quickly tracks down O'Shea and basically
gives him an ultimatum, Butler gets to join the crew and take a piece of
their latest heist or else.  On top of having to plan the latest heist,
and deal with Butler, O'Shea also has to deal with the Italian mob who
as it turns out O'Shea stole from and now, they want what he stole back,
but he already fenced it.  There are a lot of moving parts and factions
in this movie.  There are a couple of minor plot holes I don't want to
get into to.  But overall, I liked it a lot.  The movie was written and
directed by Christian Gudegast who also wrote and directed the first
movie.  This one is a continuation of that first story that was clearly
setting up a sequel.  With this one they got the team back together and
told that story.  My main thing with a heist movie is the heist itself,
and this movie has an excellent heist. You see everything from the
planning of the heist, to the heist itself, to the aftermath of it.  As
long as a heist movie has a good heist, I'm happy.  And the gratuitous
violence doesn't hurt either.
