Don't look for her to become the next Liberal Party
leader. (The next leader will become Prime Minister as
well but not for long since we're close to an election and
the Liberals are WAY back in the polls.)
Apparently, her biggest rival for the leadership, Mark
Carney, and a "spoiler" candidate, Karina Gould, are going
to work together to destroy Freeland with Gould then being
rewarded with a choice position in a Carney government.
(Carney is claiming the Liberals could win the election
but he's dreaming.)
Still, that might be good news for YOU. If the Liberals do
as badly as I think they will, Freeland may be out of
government entirely looking for a new job so you may see
more of her, depending on where she lands.
She used to be a semi-regular on The McLaughlin Report on
PBS, so she's got media on her resume.
Somehow I can't see her fitting in on MSNBC, but maybe CNN
could find a place for her.
