Apparently, her biggest rival for the leadership, Mark Carney, and a

election but he's dreaming.)

Still, that might be good news for YOU. If the Liberals do as badly as I
think they will, Freeland may be out of government entirely looking for
a new job so you may see more of her, depending on where she lands.

The polls I've seen show a major disaster for Justin's Liberals but
not as bad as 1993 (the year of "Kim's Most Excellent Summer Job")
For the sake of the non-Canadians in this newsgroup, Horny is referring to the time when Progressive-Conservative Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, seeing that he was VERY low in the polls - although not as low as Justin Trudeau is - resigned near the end of his second term. The party chose Kim Campbell as its new leader but that didn't really help the party, which was despised almost as much as Trudeau's Liberals are today, at the election a few months after Campbell was chosen: the Progressive-Conservatives got only 2 seats in the entire parliament, a new record low for a major party. Horny jokingly calls her 4 months in office Kim's Summer Job for 1993. (Campbell lost her own seat in the 1993 election and left politics.)
I've seen pundits predict 9 seats for the Liberals in our next election and one even predicted just 6 seats. Personally, I hope it is zero: the Liberals really need to understand how badly they've shit the bed since Trudeau became PM in 2015. Time will tell....
