I lost the opening post on this thread, so thanks for asking. What did I
watch!

PARADISE episode one
Already discussed.

And a couple other things I am trying desperately to remember, but I am
halfway through this course of antibiotics which is where they start making
my brain blur.

THE INCREDIBLE VOYAGE OF STINGRAY (1980)
Movie compilation of multiple episodes of the puppet series from the 1960s
with terrible added video effects. They put laser beams over the torpedoes
so you get real slow, moving laser beams with bubbles coming out the back
end.

LAW & ORDER EXILED
The Hulu offered me all of Law & Order so I told it to show me the first
episode with Angie Harmon, but they showed the Logan movie instead.

THE LAND UNKNOWN (1957)
A classic dinosaur movie that I used to see bits and pieces of on Saturday
morning TV, but had never seen the whole thing. It’s Cinemascope with a
beautiful image and stars one of my favorite Tarzans Jock Mahoney. A
helicopter full of explorers of the Antarctic goes down in the caldora of a
volcano where time has stood still for the last hundred million years.

It’s a combination of guys in dinosaur suits, big lizards filmed in slow
motion, real helicopter footage, a big helicopter model, an entire
soundstage dressed as a fog filled prehistoric world, and a huge model of
the same world with puppet dinosaurs in it.

And somehow it all works. And they’ve got shots that I can’t figure out how
the hell they did them. It all looks sort of fake, but it’s still seamless
even when they’re using real people and the model helicopter and the guy in
the T-Rex suit and some of the background and foreground is the full size
jungle, and some is the model jungle.

Three years later, Irwin Allen would make his version of THE LOST WORLD and
boy howdy did he rip this off wholesale! In fairness to him, this movie was
ripping off the original 1912 novel.

Fred-Bob is happy he checked it out.

I forgot to mention I also watched a movie on the Hulus called HUMANE,
starring Peter Gallagher and Enrico Colantoni.

The world is being ravaged by 'climate change' <rolls eyes> and the U.N.
decrees that every nation must close its borders, outlaw having children, and
reduce its population by 20% within a target date.

Instead of telling that corrupt group of globalists to fuck right the hell
off, the U.S. establishes the Department of Citizen Services and institutes a
Canadian-style MAID program, where people 'enlist' to be put to death by the
government. Enlistees get $250,000 for their next of kin as an incentive.
There are hints that this voluntary suicide program isn't going to get the
U.S. to the mandated goal so people are going to start being drafted.

It's against this backdrop that Gallagher-- a retired network news anchor--
calls his dysfunctional family together for a big dinner, cooked by his
celebrity chef wife. He announces during dinner that they've both enlisted and
will be "taking the treatment" to end their lives. This causes much upheaval
among his adult children.

Later, just before the euthanasia team arrives, they notice the wife has
disappeared and she's left a note saying she can't go through with it.

When the team, led by Colantoni, gets there, Gallagher asks to cancel or delay
the procedure. He's presented with documents that inform him that if he
refuses to be killed, all his assets will be seized, he will be imprisoned for
life, and he will go on an official 'cowards list' that the government will be
releasing. So he goes through with it.

But then Colantoni tells the rest of the family that they were due two bodies
and since the wife skipped out, one of the other family members has to take
her place. He gives them two hours to decide who's gonna die. Men with guns
surround the house and all cell and internet service is cut off.

The rest of the movie is all the siblings turning on each other and trying to
kill each other so they won't be the one to go.
