I think you're confusing the defense attorney actress with someone else. She
was played by Elsa Davis and Marvel is listed nowhere in the rest of the cast
for the episode.

That was the lead defense attorney. There was a second attorney who
approached Mauroon although we never saw her in court, the one hired to
investigate the defendant's background to prove she was a "victim".

That was a different woman. If I'm wrong about Marvel (who prepares
defense cases like that on SVU), I don't know who it was.
