 Strange - I thought at least as early as ST:TNG if not earlier was the
premise that Klingons were supposed to ensure lots of employment for
black actors.
 But then Tuvok is an interesting character unlike Burnham....

Originally the Klingons were said to be the warlike Mongols of central Asia, although wierdly often played by Latino actors. Even back then there were complaints about racial stereotypes being used, so again the "Political Correct" brigade today who think they came up with the ideas have no clue about history.
