Yes. I was trying to avoid spoilers, but the kill yourself 9-1-1 operator wasn't a guess star or some random background extra, it was one of the main leads of the show.

 Um, they *record* 911 calls! Love Hewitt is totally going down for this, if this show is at all based in reality!
 (From what I know of this show, it's absolutely *not* based in reality, though, so I'm assuming Love Hewitt will get away this...  [roll]  )
 

In the real world the call-taker doing that wouldn't have even finished the call.  When the other call-takers in the room heard them doing that the individual would have been yanked off the line immediately.
