23andMe for Trans People?
I convinced my friend to take a 23andMe DNA test for fun
(she was born male but now identifies as female), and her
results came back with a Y-DNA haplogroup and only one
X chromosome. This was really problematic for her and made
her feel uncomfortable. Does anyone know if 23andMe
makes any accommodations for trans people? Has anyone
had any experience with it?
"Accommodations for trans people"?
You mean lie to them and say their DNA is something that it is factually not?
These people are flat-out nuts.
It's as if this trans-person - or her friend - actually believes that your DNA changes when you "identify" as a gender that you are not. They don't seem to understand the difference between reality and wishful thinking.
