'The Bondsman' Canceled After One Season at Amazon
     --------------------------------------------------
"The Bondsman" has been canceled at Amazon after just one season,
     Variety has learned.

The action horror series originally debuted its entire
eight-episode first season on Prime Video on April 3. Amazon has
not released any viewership information for the show, but it did
make one appearance on the Nielsen streaming charts the week it
     debuted.

For the week of March 31-Apr. 6, "The Bondsman" made it to the
number nine spot on the Nielsen streaming originals top 10 with
563 million minutes viewed, equivalent to approximately
     9.38 million hours.

Kevin Bacon starred as the titular bondsman, with Jennifer
Nettles, Damon Herriman, Beth Grant, Maxwell Jenkins, and Jolene
Purdy also starring. The official description of the series
     states:

"Murdered bounty hunter Hub Halloran (Bacon) is resurrected by
the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from
the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons with the help
and hinderance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own
sins got his soul condemned - which pushes him to seek a second
chance at life, love, and country music."

Grainger David created "The Bondsman" and executive produced.
Erik Oleson was the executive producer and showrunner via his
company Crimethink. Bacon executive produced in addition to
starring. Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold and Chris
Dickie executive produce for Blumhouse Television. Paul Shapiro
     of CrimeThink also executive produces.

The show received mostly good reviews from critics upon its
release, but Variety's Alison Herman wrote, "[With] just eight
half-hour episodes in its first season, 'The Bondsman' has to
move from setup to payoff before it can comfortably settle into
     a prolonged middle stretch."

Half-hours are for comedies and eccentric vignettes, not fantasy.

Yeah, I like the show but the episodes are jarringly short.
