After morning errands, I played my video game all yesterday in a doomed effort to win a tournament. [roll] But I did manage to get through:

You may have said before but what video game are you playing?

Hero Wars Alliance app (not to be confused with the web-based version of
the game, Hero Wars Dominion Era):

Do not succumb! The ads for this game are *highly misleading*, but the
game itself is highly addictive, and can drain your wallet if you are
not disciplined!!

Not a problem for me. I refuse to play any game that wants me to pay
to keep playing or progress. I may have missed out on some decent
games in the past but my bank account thanks me.
About 8 or so years ago I got caught up playing one of those free online games that you had to spend real money to on to actually win. It was also a team cooperative game so that added peer pressure. I played for a few years and spent way too much money on the add ins, but I eventually stopped playing and my bank account thanked me as well.
Yes, Hero Wars is very much like that - you *can* do F2P ("free to play") and play the game that way. If you do, you can have fun, but you'll likely never get past being "mid-tier" - if you're OK with that, great! If you want to be a "top dog", however, you will have to spend and spend and spend. I misplayed the game at the beginning, so I did spend some to "fix" my mistakes. But I think I've stabilized things now, so I am resisting the urge to spend any more ca$h. So far, it's working.
